Changes

Well, hello there! It’s been a couple of months since I sat down and typed up a blog post. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday’s and have started your new year out on the right foot.

There have been some changes on my end. Dane and I are no longer living together and although I’m not going to go into great detail about it here, I will say that it wasn’t ugly. We’re still friends and have seen each other a few times, so you never know what the future holds.

I moved into an apartment not far from Dane with my cats, Teagan and Wrigley. I have a screened in porch that they both love. This was my view on Saturday morning.

December was a tough month for me as far as eating goes. I was completely out of control and used food as a crutch on several occasions. It got to the point where I almost felt like food was a drug and it was the only thing I could think about at times. My pants were getting tight, my tummy resembled a pregnant a belly and I could see the weight in my face.

I’m still working out with my trainer 3 days a week but cardio completely fell by the wayside..and it shows.

This past Monday I promised myself that I would get my eating under control and I’ve done just that. It’s amazing how much better I feel in four short days. I’m already feeling less bloated and I’m not constantly craving cookies and pizza.

First thing I did was make some broccoli soup. I followed this recipe but used broccoli instead of cauliflower.

I also made some homemade breakfast sausage.

I love the combination of ground beef (or pork) and brussel sprouts, so I made a batch of that to have available for lunches.

I also made this Enchilada Chicken Stew from PaleOMG.

I’m not technically doing “Whole30″ but I’ve cut out the grains and sugar and so far haven’t been missing them a bit.

I bought Well Fed 2 this week and can’t wait to try out some new recipes.

In order to get motivated about doing cardio again, I bought a FitBit Force.

I’m hoping this will motivate me to move more during the day and do some kind of cardio on days that I don’t lift.

So far, so good. Now to keep it going.

How are you?
