MSP Beauty: My Makeup Must-haves

I haven’t done a makeup related post in a while so I thought I would pull together a round up of the beauty products that I use on a daily basis. I feel like my routine is fairly quick and I usually keep my makeup pretty light and natural looking but lately I’ve been playing around with creating dramatic brows, sexy smoky eyes and red lips, which has been fun, especially since we are heading into more wintry weather.

So, here we go!

I usually wash my face in the shower, but since there is usually still leftover mascara under my eyes, I use these Neutrogena face wipes to get rid of any residual makeup. Then I apply moisturizing serum and face spray by Tata Harper. Once my face is dry, I put concealer under my eyes and smooth on my foundation. I really like the brand By Terry because it smells good and goes on really easily.

Next I apply powder, blush and highlighter, then move onto my eyes. (I know that you are supposed to do your eye makeup first so that you can clean around them after applying shadow and whatnot, but out of habit I always still seem to do my foundation and powder first. Go figure!)

Stila’s eyeshadow palette in Soul is so great and offers a range of shades, allowing you to either create a really fresh and bright-eyed look or opt for a more dramatic vibe. For liner, I use Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. I first tried it about a year ago and loved it. I’ve tried other brands and the majority of them are good, but I always come back to this one. It is so easy to apply, plus it’s waterproof and really stays in place all day. Definitely a bonus.

And, last but not least, the finishing touches… lipstick and perfume. I usually apply both right as I am walking out the door so my lip color and scent is fresh for wherever I am heading. And that’s it! This routine usually takes me about ten minutes tops, which I am sure Casey appreciates. :)
