Saint-Paul de Vence sits high on a mountaintop. It is one of the oldest medieval towns in the South of France…

What we saw:
Stone Streets, each one with its own tiny cobblestone mosaic. The narrow streets twist and turn, opening up to amazing views into the valley and sea below. A bell chime marks each hour, I wish we had more time to spend exploring all of the little shops and cafes. Next time.
Place du jeu de boules, the main square outside our hotel. There is a café where you can watch groups play a game of péntaque, Galerie Catherine Issert, a farmers market with dried fruits and bouquets of flowers stuck in small stone fountains.
Fondation Maeght, a modern and contemporary art museum, at the foot of Saint Paul de-Vence. Well worth the walk down Chemin Saint-Claire to get there, it’s a beautiful collection. All of the art is integrated into minimal gardens and clean buildings, a nice foil to the ancient walls in the city above.
