No, I’m not dead, I’ve just been thinking again.

Taters, I know what all of you are thinking right now…

Where were you last week? We were worried sick! We thought you had died.

Well, I sorta took an accidental mini hiatus from both of my blogs. A combination of work, and me having no motivation whatsoever to do anything blog related caused me to just not give a damn last week. I didn’t want to post, I didn’t want to participate in any hops or parties, I didn’t even want to do any sponsored posts even though there was some moolah to be made from them. I just felt for lack of a better word, uninspired to blog and did some serious thinking about if I had come to the end of my blogging road.

However I had a major revelation last night, hence why I am writing this post now. I want to continue blogging, I love blogging, and I love making all of you giggle on an almost daily basis. My problem was I was trying to make this blog into something that really wasn’t me all because of the name I chose for this blog. Ever since I started this three ring circus on March 9, 2012, I was doing a typical “Meredith” thing and was trying to make this blog a niche blog that was going to be all about the trials and tribulations of being a Northern girl living in the South, but it is really hard to find things to write about in that niche that I enjoy. Somewhere in my slightly dented noggin, I was convinced that that is what I had to write about because I chose the name The Southern Northerner, and I felt guilty every time I didn’t do that.

Yes…I am well aware now that this was a stupid way of thinking, but this is just the way my messed up brain works at times, one of the many reasons I’m a weirdo.

One of my co workers calls my ablilty to just be myself and not really give a shit about what others think “Muchiness”. Why I don’t know, but I love that she calls it that. So, now from this very moment forward I am just going to be my muchy self and this blog is just going to be about things I truly enjoy and want to write about, this place will be chock a block full of muchiness. One day it might be zombies, the next it might be about sex toys, then the next it might be a tirade about my political and religious beliefs…the point is I am done trying to write to fit an niche and I hope that you all still find my blog amusing, a joy to visit each day, and that I don’t offend to many of you by my change of direction.
