On The Plus Side: Urban Jungle

When I first wrote the title for this post, I thought I was making a simplistic reference to the print on my top and jacket (lovingly called Green Envy by my ELOQUII coworkers). But as I started to think about what I would write alongside these photos, I realized that it means so much more.

A jungle, by definition, is a dense landscape, similar to a forest, and often thought of as an unruly place filled with hidden treasures. It feels like I’ve been living in a jungle for the past month (did you notice my absence?). I’ve been working incredibly hard to support a product, mission, and people that I believe in but, as is often my pattern, I haven’t left anything in reserve for myself. I keep repeating the chorus of Taylor Swift’s song Out of the Woods because I keep wondering – am I in the clear yet/in the clear yet good. I’m terrible at creating balance between my personal and professional life, but I just keep trying (isn’t that the definition of insanity?).

This Green Envy print reignited my love of pattern mixing and inspired my new default where I mix no less than three patterns on a daily basis. It works so well with leopard (back to the jungle theme) and still feels fresh in the summer and fall. I own three pieces in this print and have, naturally, worn them all at once.
