Hair Change!!!!

Mew year New everything!! So I changed my hair. My Bleached a small section of it and I love it to bit. I feel slightly evil but it's brought out a new found conidence ( To some people I know this is something to celebrate about) I call it my 'Deville Von Teese' Hair. It's what I plan to serve for 2014.

I wanted to share with you guys what I did Because I know a lot of of girls what to bleach their hair but are scared of the damage Especially us curly girls.

DISCLAIMER: EXCUSE THE USE OF INSTAGRAM PHOTOS OPPOSED TO MORE PRO STANDARD! THIS WAS A LAST MINUTE IDEA AND I CAN NOT TURN BACK TIME, SORRY!!

First of all, bleach will damage your hair to some degree. You are causing a chemical reaction to eliminate the pigment that creates your natural hair colour. You're stripping your hair and you must be aware of the before you decide to go ahead. You can 100% maintain healthy hair that will grow after bleaching. But you must be aware and prepared for the new amount of work and changes to you hair. Continuously bleaching your hair in short amounts of time will cause it to break as well and look and feel extremely damaged. One bleaching process done correctly with touch ups only as needed will leave you with less damage and the ability to gain your hair health back. I managed to eliminated as much damage as possible and after a week my hair texture is now almost the same as my virgin hair. Okay here's all the strict things done lets talk about the fun bits. Here's the process.

About 3 weeks prior to bleaching I decided where I would Bleach and more on getting my hair into the best possible condition using natural oils and deep conditioning ( Avocados, Olive oil & Honey are your best friends. I Bought the Bleach London Total Bleaching kit. It has everything you need to bleach your hair with inside.

Once I was ready to bleach my hair, I asked my Mother to do it. she's handle bleaches and perms before so I thought she'd be best. She parted my hair into small sections ( Literally paper thin) and put the bleach on the length of my hair first and then my roots. She left a small space between my scalp and hair to ensure I wouldn't get burnt. After doing about four section she wrapped it in foil to help create heat. Heat makes the bleach develop quicker meaning you need less time to process. Once all done. I left it on for 45 mins.

At the 30 minutes mark I checked the colour. I decided it needed the full 45 minutes. If you like the colour before that time then wash it out. Also bare in mind that the lighter your hair the quicker it will get to blonde. My hair is black which is the hardest to lift.

I washed my bleached hair with a sulphate shampoo. I don't use sulphate shampoos but I decided to this time as I read that sulphate help ensure the process completely stops and wont be reactivated with heat. I then used the hair mask in the kit. it say to leave oon for 10 - 15 minutes but I decided 1hr as my hair is naturally dry. I then put my normal conditioner on and left that for 30 minutes

Lastly I used some Olive oil, Organix Argan oil and leave in conditioner and the roller set the hair.I didn't not want to use any heat for the first day.

I did straighten my hair but I straighten the bleached section on a lower heat than the rest and my have been moisturising it every day with oil.

My bleach hair did felt different to the rest of my hair it was more dry and slightly more frizzy at first. My curl pattern was not much different from the rest which is a good sign on the amount f damage and within a week my texture is less dry and frizzy.

Before bleaching go and ask a professional about it first. I have a friend who works in a Hair salon that I spoke to about it first. Please get someone else do it for you if its your first time and Ask your parents of you still live at home. I'm lucky I didn't really have to ask my mum permission as I don't live at home full time at more but this time last year I 100% would have had t
