Here is another installment of my in-progress poetry collection inspired by tarot cards…

wear your infinity like a crown, the lion thought.
sometimes, it is not just the action, but thought
is the most powerful. what is thought?

the lion laps at his paws.

the woman bends over in white.
she is glistening and the ends of beaches.
she rides bicycles for miles.
until her calves don’t feel like calves anymore.

*

my strength & your strength are the same.
the lion bends his head.
halo of figure eights & smiles.
my bared teeth, ready to lure or protect.
