Perfect Eye Duo

As much as the cat-eye flick / winged eye-liner look has been the rage in eye make-up for the last few years, I have to confess to wearing it more or less, every day since I was about fifteen. As a young girl growing up, I idolised Marilyn Monroe and later Audrey Hepburn, both 'pioneers' in this make-up look. As a result of my many years of eyeliner-wearing, I have tried as you can imagine, so many different types and brands of liquid eyeliner. So thought it may be interesting to some of you, who also like to wear this look, my Holy Grail products. The eye-liner and mascara eye duo that work so amazingly well.

Firstly mascara. I don't have particularly long, dark or voluminous lashes, so I'm quite in favour of a thick, clumpy mascara. The one I found a couple of years ago and which I have stuck to ever since, is Lancome's Hypnose Drama. Even after originally trying this mascara, I thought I would have a break from it and try something else. But I soon returned back to it, I cannot rate it enough. Both the consistency and brush, even the way the tube is designed all contribute to my love of this product.
Secondly onto the main player, liquid eyeliner. I have been fairly loyal for many years to Chanel's Ecriture but just recently changed to Lancome's Artliner, spotted when buying a new tube of their mascara. This is hands-down the best eye-liner I have tried yet. The tip gives the smoothest line possible, I really think it would be impossible to get the cat-flick wrong with this product. Whether you like a fine line or like to build up to a thicker lined look, you absolutely have to try out the Artliner.
