Winter Warmers

One of the big things I look forward to at the end of summer is the promise of finally being able to indulge my love of knit-wear. There is nothing better to me than the colder seasons where it is finally acceptable to wear huge cosy knits and layered pieces. So when contacted by French brand La Redoute to review, I was more than happy to share with you the items I chose* and my opinion on them and the brand.

I was able to choose two or three pieces from their New In range, items with La Redoute branding. I ended up choosing a soft, dusky lilac sweater from Soft Grey, a cream cable sweater from Laura Clement and a navy dress from Mademoiselle R. You can see pictures of me wearing them below, the styling with these kind of pieces is pretty simple for me. I like to wear sweaters usually just with a pair of jeans or knee-length flare skirt, sweaters for me are definitely my idea of comfy clothing. And dresses are the easiest item in my wardrobe, one piece of clothing with no thought necessary. So I wanted to show you the fit which turned out to be quite perfect for me. I knew when choosing the sweaters that they were not 100% wool but rather a blend of wool and alcapa. This ended up being better anyway as they are both of the softest and cosiest material, wool can often feel very scratchy on the skin. And I particularly like the style of dress, it has a flattering silhouette, nipping in at the waist and some very sweet details - bows at either side on the hips and beautiful jewel collar. The clothes at La Redoute are very affordable, the cable knit and dress are both £35 each with the lilac sweater currently on sale at only £13.50. The La Redoute site is absolutely huge with so many pages to browse and as a self-confessed Francophile is most definitely one I will be returning to for a little French style.
