Not Even A Beautiful Mess

Y’all, I just can’t even with my house right now.

It is so messy.

Seriously, so much mess that I felt like it was worthy of it’s own post.

I can’t even get faux-instagram deep and be all like “but it’s OUR mess and that is what makes this house a home because one day I will miss this trail of dried orange juice running from the refrigerator to my child’s bedroom closet” because I can not concentrate long enough to think of deep-sounding things like that on account of how there are smashed up pieces of cereal everywhere.

Like, it almost feels as though I am walking on sand right now.

And also I am busy pondering what my child was doing with orange juice in her closet.

I am afraid to look.

My plan for today was to edit some beautiful holiday pictures to share but my house is making me itchy. So instead I am going to listen to the new Taylor Swift cd like I’m not a 31 year old adult, consume copious amounts of coffee and clean my house.

I like to use a checklist or planning sheet for housekeeping because I enjoy the feeling of checking things off a to-do list but I have fallen off that wagon because the one I had just didn’t really work for me (fly lady- I just could not keep up with the incessant emails – they made me feel super overwhelmed.)

What are your favorite cleaning checklists?

Bonus points if I can print them off for free on Pinterest.
