Father’s Day Gift: Like Father, Like Son Photobook and Shutterfly GIVEAWAY {CLOSED}

When you have a baby, everyone likes to tell you that they look like you or the dad so you run to your baby books and compare yourselves at the same ages. In our case, most people tell us that Brielle looks like her daddy.

Luckily he’s a good looking guy so I’m perfectly happy with this. :) When looking through Derek’s baby book, I was realizing there were a lot of shots of him and his dad that I know we have of Derek with Brielle and an idea came to mind:

I decided to put these photos together, side by side, in a Shutterfly Photobook

and gift a copy to each of them for Father’s Day. I chose a “Father” themed book and got to work plugging in photos, taking full advantage of the “customizing” feature Shutterfly offers when building the book.

Before going on I must state that I DID NOT yet give this gift to Derek or my father-in-law so FAMILY/FRIENDS who know them and read my blog, please don’t mention it yet until after the holiday!

I decided to go further back than just being a dad, but start at the beginning. How awesome is the photo above of Derek’s mom and dad at their first school dance? Our picture underneath is from college, but I love the side by side concept to kick off the book!

The timeline continued, showcasing similar pictures we had from dating…

To milestones like graduating and getting engaged…

To getting married…

Going on a honeymoon to a beachy location, being parents-to-be…

Becoming a father (and by the way, is it just a guy thing to hold your baby up in their air like that? I know I’ve never made that pose for the camera)

Being a cute dad (the guitar photos are my favorite!)…

To being a family man. Overall I was pretty impressed at how many similar shots we had taken throughout the years without knowing it and I loved putting them side by side in this book. I can’t wait to see their reactions!
