good news and random monday
Happy Monday! It’s an extra happy Monday for me today because I am starting a new job today! I kept this hush hush but I actually left my old job a few weeks ago. Without going into the dirty details, I wasn’t happy there for awhile so it was good to move on and I found another job pretty quickly. I used to do insurance law and now I’ll be doing real estate law and I’m excited for the change. #Nerd
So here are some other random things going on with me right now. A big thing with having time off was that I got a lot of house projects done. More on that later this week. But I also finally got some wedding things done! I ordered invitations, booked the transportation and am close to having the rehearsal dinner booked. My bridal shower invitations also went out and I found a pretty dress for my shower. And we ordered my wedding band. I am actually getting my engagement ring re-set as well. I loved the originally design, but I have long skinny (alien) fingers, so I wanted a skinnier band. So it made sense to get it done now when we order my wedding band. But the annoying thing is that I am without a ring for several weeks. Sad face.
Here is one tiny house project I can share with you now. Awhile I go, I shared how to hide cable cords but it was a work in progress. I finally “finished” the area by adding more books, photos and some candles. It’s never fun trying to make cable stuff look good, but I think it finally looks more like it’s on purpose. See what it looks like now and then the ugly “before” photo below. I basically used this bookshelf from Ikea and ran all the wires along the frame and taped the wires down. The books on the shelf hide the wires coming from the tv.
I’ve also gotten a few great new things lately. I won a giveaway from The Modern Tulip and got this super cute summery top and a pretty necklace. Yay love pretty stuff!
I also got some great products from Ellovi - a lip butter and body butter. These products are all natural with no added preservatives or chemicals. I’m trying to use more natural products so I loved trying these. And I’m a sucker for the pretty packaging too of course. You can enter to win your own lip butter and body butter below.
How was everyone else’s weekend and Father’s Day? We have a nice cookout with our families on our patio which was a great way to celebrate. Oh and of course, Jarrod and I continued with our Game of Thrones watching. We’re in the middle of season 4 so we’re nearly caught up. So many things are happening! My mind is going to explode.
