unique bridal shower gifts
So here is my (sorta) bridal shower recap, as promised like 2 weeks ago. Oops. #slacker So I got lots of ah-maaaazing bridal shower gifts. Wonderful things that I really needed – new pots and pans, luggage, dishes, silverware, a Kitchenaid mixer, a coffeemaker, sheets, towels – basically amazing necessary house things. Like what bridal showers are for. BUT I also got some random and awesome and unique bridal shower gifts and I want to share a few of them with you guys. (Plus it felt a little weird/braggy to share photos of the house things I got, if that makes any sense. And I already shared the one photos of me and Jarrod from the shower. Anyways.)
First up is the coolest thing ever. My mom is from South Korea and her entire family still lives over there (7 siblings and all of their kids/grandkids). I only visited there when I was 10 but it was cool to meet some of my family. My mom’s sister who she is closest with sent me this amazing gift which is a traditional Korean lacquer jewelry box inlaid with mother of pearl (called Najeon Chilgi). It’s so pretty and even the inside is gorgeous!
Going along with the whole Korean theme, I got some other fun Korean gifts – some random tchatchkes and things which I love. I have a weakness for little knick knacks and when I go to NYC I go wild in Chinatown and the Sanrio store and buy cute and wildly unnecessary things. Love. The first photo below is of random things I’m assuming my mom’s friend who lives in New Jersey got in Chinatown plus those Korean food stickers from my friends. And that kimchi bag below is from my friend and from this Etsy shop. Kimchi is probably my fave food in the world so this bag is perfect.
Yes that is a pug notebook, pug zip pouch, pug nail kit (the smaller pug face), pug face coasters and pug nail tattoo/stickers. I also got two pug pillows and a t-shirt of a pug wearing a jaunty old timey cap. Again, all very necessary things!
So that’s a glimpse into the unconventional gifts from my bridal shower. It was a perfect combo to get some traditional houseware type gifts with some fun and unique gifts too. Perfection – thanks to my bridemaids, family and friends who all attended. Presents are fun!
