BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS

7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7-9 NIV

At least for me, it is very easy to be discouraged when something does not go my way, falls apart over and over again or, I’m just bored and have too much time to think and start making up things that don’t make me happy. But why is there such focus on being happy ALL THE TIME? Who sold us that life is all chocolate and wine? God tells us to “not be discouraged” because He KNOWS that we will be discouraged at some points - it is normal in this imperfect world. However, He promises to be with us wherever we go, and I can promise you that if you’d look at your life in a bigger scope you’d see that He IS with you. He provides, brings joy and freedom. Next time discouragement creeps up, remember to be “strong and courageous”. And, please, remind me of this as well!
