RUST

Yesterday I started working on dye tests for the Fall/Winter collection. I’m hoping to re-introduce some natural dyes to the line and create an earthier palette. Natural dyes are always so interesting to work with and create textiles with so much visual depth while still appearing soft and feminine. The bottom shot shows a test swatch I made for colour reference of rust (the light ochre), logwood (grey/purple) and sappan (a soft pink that was overwhelmed by the logwood). I have a lot to learn before this technique will be ready to bring to S&C but I’m excited about this direction. It has been a long few months of production work and it feels great to get back in the experimental dye kitchen…
