Weekend in Leeds with French Connection

Last week French Connection got in touch and asked me to put together a little city guide of Leeds. Naturally, I jumped at the chance as it was a perfect excuse to eat at some lovely restaurants, and share my love for Leeds. I have lived in Leeds all my life, and through every stage of my life it has offered new experiences and opportunities. I decided I couldn't fit in everything I wanted to do in a day, so this what Harry and I got up to over the weekend in Leeds. Check back tomorrow for the second post and video!

We got into Leeds just in time for lunch, so we headed straight to our favourite spot to lunch to quieten our rumbling tummies! Just near Leeds Train Station, Friends of Ham is a bar and charcuterie serving the best food. If you love meat and cheese then you're definitely in for a treat, go along with a friend as its all about sharing boards and trying a bit of everything. I am not a beer or wine drinker myself, but Harry assures me the menu leaves you spoilt for choice!

With happy tummies we headed for a mooch around the shops. Leeds is fantastic for shopping and has everything you would want. The main shopping street is packed with everyone's high street favourties, as well as huge department stores including Harvey Nichols, which is inside the beautiful Victoria Quarter. If you're after luxury, quality and a bit of a splurge, the Victoria Quarter it the place for you! This is also where French Connection can be found, where we lost track of time lusting over all their new arrivals - I will share my favourites with you at the end of the post.

We stopped to take some pictures just round the corner from the French Connection shop. A really simple and comfortable look with this amazing roll neck as the focus. This super soft knit is a must have for the upcoming colder months, I know I will wearing it just like this as well as under layers and coats and the temperature drops.

We stopped for a quick re-fuel at the cutest coffee shop in Leeds. Mrs Athas is a rustic café serving amazing coffee and cakes - this time we refrained on the cakes, but usually my willpower is not so strong!!

Back home for a quick turn around and we were back in Leeds for an evening out. I pulled on these gorgeous trousers from French Connection, and teamed it with all black and simple shoes to create a simple look focused on Autumn/Winter appropriate colours. These trousers are the most amazing colour which will go with everything and is a refreshing change from black. These are definitely coming in my suitcase with me to New York - so keep your eyes peeled for a more summery look!

We headed to the brand new Trinity Centre, which is packed with shops, restaurants and bars. If I am feeling fancy and want a nice cocktail I head to the bars in Trinity. One of my favourites is Angelica's. It's a bar and restaurant with the most amazing view. We had a drink (and an Instagram moment) on the terrace wrapped up in blankets, but you can enjoy the view just as much from the inside.

To end our evening we went for some more grub. Harry and I love a good Mexican, and Cielo Blanco is just that. I would recommend the Street Food Experience, where you choose 6 items (super filling ones too), all for £12 per person - bloody good value if you ask me!
Come back tomorrow to see what we got up to on Sunday, and to see the video of the whole weekend!
