The Vaseline Essential Moisture T-Day Challenge - Part 1

Is it finally here now? I'm talking about summer. The sun's been out in full force today, so here's hoping!

I was all too quick to sign up to 'T-Day' - the day us girls finally take off our tights and embrace the summer weather. The challenge is for me to test the moisturising properties of the Vaseline Essential Moisture Lotion for a week and see what difference it makes to my skin. Here it is in all its glory:

What steps do you take when getting your pins summer-ready? Here are my top tips:

1. Be hair-free
Hairy legs aren't attractive. Get fuzz free with your preferred method of hair removal, be it shaving, waxing or with a hair removal cream. If shaving, try and shave in the direction of your hair growth to avoid ingrown hairs and irritation.

2. Exfoliate
Buff those pins out by exfoliating them at least 3 times a week. As well as helping to boost blood circulation, exfoliating will leave you with super smooth pins. There are dozens of body scrubs on the market, they don't need to cost the earth. One of my favourites is Soap & Glory's Flake Away If you have the time, you can even make your own. All you need is salt or sugar, a body oilfo your choice (i.e almond or extra virgin coconut oil) and an essential oil for scent. Voila!

3. Get those tootsies sorted!
Summer after summer, I am aghast at the number of women who slip their feet into sandals with chipped, unkept toenails with hard, crusty skin on their heels! No, no NO! If you can't manage a home pedicure, then get thee to your nearest salon and have your toes prepped and preened to perfection. You'll feel so much better sporting your tidy toes in your new summer footwear.

4. Lunge, lift and squat!
Okay so I probably should have started this exercise routine on a regular basis months ago, but if you have a big holiday coming up in a hot climate, start now and reap the benefits later!

5. If in doubt, get the fake tan out!
Fake tan is the obvious option for adding colour to your limbs without being a slave to the sun. Fake tan will help guise imperfections and give you an even glow (if applied properly). Black skin can look ashy/pasty too, so don't turn your nose up thinking "I don't need it". Palmers do a great natural bronze self tanner, which gives a subtle glow - and yes I WILL be using it, if necessary.

Here's hoping the sun's shining next weekend, so I can go bare!
