My Week with Sleek, Straight Hair
Happy Friday, girlies! I'm so excited to share with you today something I've been working hard on this week. My HAIR. Hard work, eh? Tresemme absolutely came to me at the right time to try their new Keratin Smooth 7-Day product line, including shampoo, conditioner and heat activated treatment. Guess what? I love it! I've been using the line for (duh) seven days now and my hair has never felt sleeker or smoother from MOI doing it alone. (I'm so not a hairstylist...it's usually wash and go, folks.)
This line has left my hair frizz-free, since my natural texture is pretty wavy immediately after wash. And while I definitely love to embrace it, it's so very nice to have it slick and straight. After all, that's how I wore it (or attempted to) for practically my whole life! This keratin line truly excites me because I can achieve the amazing stick-straight texture I long to get from my hairstylist, but I can do it at home...and it's easy! It's literally exactly what she does to my hair at the salon (sorry, H, but I'll still be stopping by, don't worry!).
How does it work? I washed my hair in the shower with the shampoo and conditioner, and afterwards used the heat styling treatment, combing several pumps through my hair. Part of the time, I air dried my hair before bed (hey, I have a 3-week-old baby), and the rest of the week I blow dried (remember to use it for seven days!). Honestly, it worked for me in particular either way, but I know the instructions recommend blow drying. The next morning, I used my flat iron (which I've raved about recently!) and it seriously took just 10 minutes...five minutes for each side of my hair (and that's because it's super long and it was right before I got a cut...those prenatal vitamins have made my hair grow!) .
So basically only 10 minutes (plus shampoo time) is life-changing for me to have my hair cooperate like this. I'm squealing, y'all! I could immediately tell in the shower after washing and it was still wet. My hair got straighter and lighter...and it smelled good, too! Then afterwards it just kept getting better. For a supermarket find/price, this line isn't too shabby...I'd def buy it again. The results make me feel fabulous and not like a new mom at all! New moms don't have hair like this?? Shhhh...no one has to know our hair styling secret, but just me and you. I mean, I woke up like this... ;)
