what’s your face worth?

when our luggage went missing on the way home from montenegro i started listing everything we’d lost so we could claim for it. luckily our bag turned up but it got me thinking about the value of the things we use every single day, specifically all our lotions & potions. so when i saw lelore’s recent post i decided to continue adding-up the cost of my cosmetics, just out of curiosity.

i only counted my everyday make up (there are, of course, scores more products that get used less regularly) & i’ve not included skincare or any tools – i may do that as a separate experiment!

face

dr jart bb cream (£21)

clinique even better foundation in 03 ivory (£24.50)

collection lasting perfection concealer in cool medium (£4.19)

natural collection pressed powder in neutral (£1.99)

mac powder blush in fleur power (£18)

benefit moon beam (£18.50)

eyes

rimmel eye brow pencil in dark brown (£2.99)

dior crayon kohl pencil in noir (£18)

maybelline eyestudio color tattoo 24hr gel eyeshadow in 35 on & on bronze (£4.99)

clinique high impact mascara in black (£17.50)

lips

rimmel kate moss lasting finish lipstick in 01 (£5.49)

burt’s bees tinted lip balm in red dahlia (£5.99)

total

£143.14

i’m actually pleasantly surprised by the total, though it’s still shocking to think i’ve spent this much money just on my current supply of the things i slap on my face. have you ever thought about the cost of your day-to-day make up? are there any products you just can’t not splurge on?
