Love them or hate them daily deal sites are full of the perfect discounts for your wedding day and are a lot easier to use then clipping coupons.

I love using Groupon, LivingSocial and TravelZoo for deals… and while it once led me to what looked like a really bad neighborhood for a massage, we’ve had vacations that should have cost us thousands of dollars for only a couple hundred.

From decor and stationery to makeup and nails- paying close attention to discount sites in the weeks leading up to your wedding has the possibility to pay out big.

Use these tips to Groupon your Wedding and let me know in the comments what are some of your favorite places to catch quick deals.

1. Read the fine print:

Every company has the right to include small nuances in their agreements with the discount company that can make it trickier to use the discounted price. If the deal requires that you make an appointment in advance and that the appointment has to be between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. you’ll want to make sure to book that deal first.

2. Pay attention to the expiration date:

Be careful about buying deals too early in the planning process. If you want to book a discounted photo booth but their ‘deal’ expires 2 weeks before your wedding date it’s not going to work out.

3. Call the companies directly for more information:

Most of the companies advertising on daily deal sites are small businesses and are willing to be flexible if you contact them directly. The businesses end up making a lot less (25% – 50%) then what you pay to the deal site so it is worth their time to be flexible if you book directly with them instead of buying the deal.

4. Tip correctly:

Regardless of what you paid for the deal you should still tip as if you paid full price. A nail tech had to give up a full paying customer to assist you and they likely were not the person who decided to offer the deal.

5. Read the reviews:

There are some services that can go wrong without much of an issue but booking your photographer, videographer or hair stylist might be important enough that you want to vet the business ahead of time.

6. Caveat emptor:

Aka Buyer Beware. While discounts can be amazing there is always the chance that you will get what you paid for. Take appropriate care to make sure you have a backup plan if things do not turn out how you hoped.
