My Favorite Wedding Apps for Android Devices

Recently, I was invited to become a Verizon Influencer and join the #VZWBuzz program. I was pretty excited about it because I love checking out new technology and gadgets – and that’s what the program’s all about!

Full disclosure: I’ve been a Verizon Wireless subscriber for the last 5 years or so. I’ve had a few different cell networks over the years and I’ve found Verizon to be the most reliable in the most locations. So of course, I was excited to work with VZW on this fun program. Basically, they send influencers new devices or gadgets every so often to check out and review. (Super fun!)

I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the products (and how they relate into the realm of weddings) whenever I’m sent a device, so if you want to keep up with my tech adventures, stay tuned for upcoming posts.

For my first device, the folks at Verizon sent me a new HTC One. Since this marks my first ever Android device, I thought it would be fun to do a roundup of some of the best wedding apps for Android. Without further ado, here are some of my favorites:

3 Awesome Wedding Apps for Android

And now moving onto my thoughts on the HTC One:

I’ve been a self-proclaimed Apple snob for the better part of the last decade thanks to a career in graphic design. I’ve had nothing but iPhones for the last SIX years. I have to admit I was primed and ready to not love this device. But after giving it a couple weeks of casual use (in addition to my iPhone 5s I use, personally) the HTC One has honestly started to grow on me.

PROS: It’s got a big (but not TOO big) screen, takes decent photos, and I definitely appreciated the front facing speakers. Great for watching videos!! CONS: A little on the large size (doesn’t fit into my fave wristlet- boo!), battery life is only so-so, the interface is something I had to learn from scratch after being exclusively iOS for 6 yrs.
(a couple of photos I snapped in low light conditions last weekend)

Another cool feature of the HTC One is The HTC Advantage. FREE SMARTPHONE PROTECTION AND REPAIR* Check out the details:
  • Cracked screen? Free one time screen replacement within first 6 months.
  • Stay up to date. Automatic Software Updates.
  • Protect your data. 25-100 GB of additional cloud storage and backup.
  • Help when you need it. The way you want it
  • See your local carrier for complete details.
Buy It: The HTC One M8 is available at Verizon Wireless for $199 (with 2 yr contract)
or $29.99 on Verizon’s edge program. Full retail is $599.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed using the phone. I found myself reaching for it a few times over my personal phone, mostly because of the bigger and brighter screen. Is this a sign that I’m getting old? Another con I found was that a few of my favorite go-to apps don’t have Android versions, which is a bummer, but I know they are adding new ones all the time. Final Verdict? It’s a great phone. If you’re not a brand loyalist like me, you’ll flip for the features of the HTC One. You can learn more about the phone on Verizon’s website. Stay tuned in the coming months for my next tech review!!
Disclosure: I am a member of Verizon’s Influencer Team#VZWBuzz. I received the HTC One from Verizon. No additional compensation was provided nor did I promise a positive feedback. All opinions are my own.
