How I wore it: colors by llarowe Look at me, I’m Sandra Dee

For me, 2014 is the year of the rise of indies. Seriously, I don’t think the market has seen as many choices in nail polish ever before – and yes, I know that some indie companies existed well before 2014. It just seems that my appreciation for all the indie polishes developed only in late 2013 and has a high point now in 2014.
One of the newly established brands is the online retailer’s in-house brand colors by Llarowe. At first I didn’t feel the need to get any of the colors – they were mostly holographic polishes in every shade, and I am overfed when it comes to holographic polishes. However, colors by Llarowe released two polishes of the “weird” kind (aka exactly what I like), and as these weren’t sold out, I decided to get them.

This is Look at me I’m Sandra Dee. The polish consists of red glitter particles suspended in a base of fine holographic particles. At the moment I have short nails so 2 coats was enough. I think for longer nails an extra coat wouldn’t hurt.

I really like this polish, but I understand that it’s on the bolder side. So I figured I’d show you a relatively normal outfit, that you can easily make totally normal if you change the shoes, tights and earrings.

Recently I have had quite some luck with ordering my clothes online – not only did I get the sizes right instantly, but also did I find some very, very good deals. For example, this dress by Paul & Joe Sister was reduced from something like EUR 250,00 to about EUR 40,00. And it is gorgeous, comfortable and easy to wear.

These pictures were taken during our most recent visit to Amsterdam – family celebrations were on the program, you know, these yearly recurring events with cake and presents. We also went to Carré, a theater in Amsterdam, where I haven’t been before. It’s a beautiful theater that I haven’t visited before. Funny how some activities are repeated over and over again, while other activities are ignored, like going to see a musical at three o’clock in the afternoon. Thinking about it, it may be because I really don’t like musicals.
