While in Cincinnati…

Hi All! My name is Katie and I blog over at OUT OUTFIT, a Cincinnati-based fashion and social blog. And I’ll be honest with you, when it comes to my downtime, I like to eat, drink, and get dressed. That’s all there is to it.

Amanda and I figured it would be fun to swap places for the day and share what we love about our cities with the each other’s respective audiences. Cincinnati and Columbus are only a good stone throw away from each other and in the event that someone finds themselves in the opposite city, they might as well know what to get into.

I have to start off by saying Cincinnati is experiencing quite the renaissance as of late. There has been such a positive resurgence in the city, with restaurants and fleas and markets and new popular pockets of neighborhoods, that it is just plain fun to get downtown and have yourself a time.

Let’s start with the high end. If you want to treat yourself in this city, you need to come to the heart of it and dine at either Via Vite or Boca.

(skate wing at Via Vite)

(corn agnolotti at Boca)

Both will offer you a beautiful, high-end dining experience. The food will be amazing, artistic, conscious, and you will not be disappointed. I dream about the skate wing at Via Vite and I do not talk during the corn agnolotti at Boca.

You can read more about Via Vite here and Boca here. Again, these two are the absolute best in this city.

Now on to the hip, cool, trendy part of town – OTR (Over-the-Rhine)

This is definitely where I can most often be found. Every last place is cool. The bars are smaller and cozier, the eats are better and more exciting, the crowds are eclectic and energetic. This is truly where to go.

I’ve posted about nearly every spot down there, and in not particular order, here are my definite recommendations: Abigail Street, A Tavola, Anchor, The Eagle – the list goes on and on. Do check it all out.

Mount Adams is also one of Cincinnati’s most endearing parts of town. If you haven’t made a trip to this little pocket, you must.

While this is mostly a bar-scene part of town, an amazing little restaurant just opened up and I’d be remiss if I didn’t share with you. Sprout. The tastiest, quaintest, perfect little spot. This place might just be worth the drive down one morning for breakfast.

So while it is clear that I love to eat, there is also so many places to just be and walk around. Washington Park, Riverfront Park, The Banks, Sawyer Point, Hyde Park Square, and Oakley Square are all places that I frequent whenever I can. Grab a coffee, wrap yourself in a blanket scarf, and just explore. I assure you, you’ll be impressed.

Thanks for having me Amanda! And if you like what you see here, feel free to stop by my neck of the woods, or follow me on any or all fun social media sites – Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest
