"Love you to pieces"

Hi Roadies, it's me again, Jody Ferlaak and this time I am sharing a simple, whimsical but eye-catching layout that I scrapped using a cute photo strip of my daughter, Wyndham. A couple of notes about the layout~ first, the pictures are a number of years old, but I pulled them up on my computer recently and printed them out all in a row after editing them at picmonkey.com. I love how easy it is to edit photos and save them to my computer, then I just order prints online. Second, Wyndham is my extra special needs daughter, who is now 13, but I love that her personality shines through in pictures so well that makes her fun to spotlight on scrap pages! Here is the full page:

I wanted to keep this page light and airy, so I used white cardstock as the base, plus you can see some small patterns in the heart paper and polka dots, with vellum layered over that. I used some yellow tissue paper and machine stitched it into a sort of ruffle to tuck behind the photo for added dimension and a fun softness too.

The sweet wood button is a base to a bottle cap sticker, and that bird charm, kraft envelope, canvas flower and baker's twine all 'worked' together as I tucked them in and around the edge of the photo strip. You can see that I love to layer and cluster embellishments, as I did it on both sides of the photos! The cute transparent happy frame is perfect for more lightness and adds yet another layer. I made a second ruffle using the cherry dot fabric tape to repeat and play off of the tissue paper one as the background. The pops of red and yellow are so playful and fun together, don't you think?! They definitely 'fit' my daughter's smile and personality captured in the pictures.

I hope I have given you some inspiration and ideas of your own for your next layout or project. Using lots of little bits and pieces can go a long way and it still packs a punch when you spotlight your precious photos and memories. I love all the pieces when they come together, and I love that these smiles are preserved for a long time to come! Enjoy playing with your Maya Road products on your next layout. You won't regret it one bit!
