Hi Roadies! Kimberly here today, happy to be sharing a couple of my projects for the upcoming Quilt Show! I love embriodery hoop wall hangings and art work, so getting to create my own was bliss with all the wonderful embellishments and trims from Maya Road!
For this hoop, I adhered Burlap Trim to my blue fabric. Then I cut apart Butterflies Lace to get two separate butterflies. They are so delicate and gorgeous! For a bit of a color pop, I placed Vintage Pearl Pins in Hot Pink through the lace and adhered the butterflies to the fabric.
The hoop still needed something, so as I looked through my stash, Blue Raspberry Twine Cording jumped out at me. I started to play and wondered if I could spell out words with the twine. It worked! I laid the twine out the way I wanted and then with a toothpick, carefully placed adhesive on the back of the twine. This is such a cool look, I cannot wait to try it again!
This was an 8" straw wreath. To cover that up, I wrapped Cream Burlap Trim around the entire wreath. I slightly overlapped each pass of trim to allow the trim to go farther.
Around the bottom of the wreath, I wrapped Lime Green Twine Cording. I did the section in two passes, to give it more depth and coverage. Flowers were added, starting with the Burlap Medallion Mum. Then the smaller Vintage Burlap Roses on each side. And then the smallest flowers, Velvet Pleats in the coral color. To the cream flowers, I added a twine-tied Country Fair Buttons. The large mum got a Stained Wood Flower Button, which I have been hoarding and waiting to use on the perfect project!
So there you have it, simple decorations that are simple to make with the beautiful Maya Road products!
Thanks for stopping by!
