Festive gift tags~

Hello Roadies and Happy December to you! Jody here to share a couple of quick and easy projects to add some cheer to your gift-giving this month. I just love adding a little something homemade to gifts that are simple and a fun way to use up some of the cute things in my craft stash at this time of year. Maya Road products are so versatile and so much of the embellishments are neutral, so you can use things that aren't specifially holiday themed and they pack a punch when combined with seasonal papers.

Here I pulled a mix of items ranging from wooden buttons to crochet trim to burlap flowers. Seeing the different pieces all spread out together always inspires me and ideas for making tags come easily. I made one tag that could be added to a package or even tied around the mouth of a jar filled with anything your heart desires.

The folded paper pinwheel is simply a strip of paper folded accordian-style and then glued together at both ends. The added dimension is fun to layer over a kraft tag and snowflake doily. Then a bit of floral trim, a couple of wooden buttons and a piece of red polka dot fabric tape finishes it all off with charm. This kind of tag could be custom made with any sticker sentiment or hand-written one too. I used a chipboard sticker and it's ready to go on any gift top or could even be hung as cute name tag on a stocking too!

The next tag is actually a small paper cone. Again, I focused on making something simple, but with enough charm that it makes a big statement. To create the cone {all items are from the Sparkle & Shine kit}, I used a piece of 6x6 patterned paper and rolled it and secured with super tape at the ends. The top folds down and you could fill it with something or leave it empty and use it as a tree ornament or also add this to a gift for a unique tag that someone can use in their decorating too. I added some green ribbon tied as the hanger and a little kraft sticker, poinsetta and gold leaf finish this project.
