Celestial Seasoning Tour and Giveaway of the BEST Tea

I have the best tea giveaway for you today! Seriously. It’s all my favorite tea things! But first let’s talk about my adventures at Celestial Seasonings. The company invited me to tour their facility and taste all the teas in the world ever.

When they reached out I was really excited because I already LOVE Celestial Seasonings!

Exhibit A: This is only half of the teas I had in my kitchen when they contacted me…

My name is Monica and I am a tea addict.

Backtrack to when I was in Boulder on Thursday, we’ll start from the morning. After breakfast we headed to the Celestial Seasonings facility.

The whole company came out to welcome the bloggers! This was the warmest welcome of my life.

And I finally got to meet The Sleepy Time Bear! I see this familiar face on my favorite night time tea regularly

From there we headed inside to learn about the company and the new TOP SECRET stuff they are cooking up!

The day started with a tea tasting. It’s just like wine tasting except you don’t get sloppy. (Is that just me?)

I tried something like 10 teas that morning and kept going back to my personal favorite as of late – Sweet Harvest Pumpkin.

One of their new tea recipes is coming very very soon. I wish I could share it because it was my favorite drink of the day! But, I’ll let you know when it is available for sure.

The company was founded in Colorado in 1969. Now they serve over 1.6 billion cups of tea a year! I am pretty sure I account for about 100,000 of those… give or take.

I am not a tea-ologist or anything so I really loved the tea tasting experience. We tried two different types of green tea and a white tea to compare. Many Americans can’t get on board with the typical taste of green tea so Celestial Seasonings mixed it with white for a smoother taste. (I personally am a fan of green tea since I went to China and drank it 3 meals a day.)

We tried each of the individual ingredients that make up Lemon Zinger. It was really interesting to taste one component and then taste the tea. I could really tell each piece was vital to the puzzle.

Lunch was amazing. I just have to mention it because it really was. All I want in the world is someone to cook me salmon on salad and feed me cupcakes. Thank you.

After lunch we put on space suits to fly off to a secret tea farm on Venus where they make their special Sleepy Time Space Tea.

That, or we were going into a special part of the factory and had to don special suits and hair nets for sanitary purposes. (But that version is way less exciting.)

The Celestial Seasonings tea factory tour is one of the most popular activities to do in Boulder! You can find out more about the free tour here. (Since we were blogging about the event we had access to certain areas that required our white suits – the public doesn’t have to dress up like this.)

The most popular part of the tea tour is the Mint Room. This is where they store the mint behind closed doors because the smell is so strong!

It was really cool to see all the machines buzzing along putting together the boxes, mixing the herbs, filling them up and more.

Have you ever noticed the fun pictures on the box? Celestial Seasonings works with artists to illustrate the box according the the flavor. Some of the original artwork is up on the walls throughout the facility.
