Brick Lane Market

Last week not only was it a beautiful Sunday but I was surrounded by great friends and my other half. We strolled around three of the most well known East End markets, had some food and drink and just had an overall wonderful day. I went home with a new summer jacket and some other lovely bits. As Brick Lane wasn’t as crowded as the Flower Market I was able to take a few more pictures of the things I got up to.

As soon as we got into the market we headed to Beyond Retro and it really was a haven for vintage wants and fancies. The staff were helpful and friendly and the stock was such a sight that I cannot wait to get back there. The colourful bag on the bottom right of the collection above is the newest addition to my collection of bags. I am currently using it for a laptop bag and it is just so colourful that every time I look at it I smile – a real day brightener.

In the men’s department I spotted Mickey Mouse popping out from a rack of denim. I walked past wanting this shirt but left it in place!

As you all know and if you don’t then it is in the title – I am a bit of a book geek! This little basement that was part of a bric-a-brac shop was heaven to me and being a true book-a-holic I couldn’t leave without a browse and came up trumps with two books that I have had on my TBR list for some time now! Result!

Everywhere you look there is street art and sadly some of it has been defaced. Those that are untouched really are true art and I just hope that more keep popping up. One day soon I will go on a street art search to see how much I can find.

Many market stalls were selling these hats sadly as my head is rather large (big brains!!!) I was unable to get one of these said to be ‘one size fits all’ hats. Most may see these everywhere on the blogosphere and besides blogger shoes these are quite commonly seen in pictures.

One thing that Brick Lane really did not lack was colour and down to the bicycle wheels it was EVERYWHERE as you can see. Despite such enticing colours I walked by with just a picture for memory.

Passing many of the beautiful vintage windows the pink Blahnik beauties really caught my eye. As I stood there wishing for them to be mine we moved on to see many other things and that were most likely cheaper but not so precious. Ah man – if I go back I will have to go into this shop.

Well those are the photos from my time at the market.

Have you been to Brick Lane Market?
