I still dream about the brief but amazing 16 hours I spent at the South Place Hotel, London’s first independent luxury hotel. Starting off with the most direct way to a girl’s heart – food. The bottomless brunch is something you have to try at least once in your lifetime, trust me. I mean, take a look at that menu. Then it was off to explore. From the first floor atrium to the Angler restaurant on the roof (Michelin starred British seafood!) to the many gorgeous lounge areas on the ground floor – inspiration and beauty manifested in all things luxurious; I felt right at home. Correction – I decided this should actually be my home. Comfy beds and amazing baths, cute little hand-drawn maps of a running route through the neighbourhood – what was not to love? To quote Mr. Robertson, the general manager: “Our vision is to treat every guest that walks through the door as an individual, appealing to the refined tastes of discerning travellers as well as our neighbours in the City and surrounding Shoreditch.” And that they do.
