Mixed Media Canvas - In Memory

Earlier in the year I was asked to make a canvas in memory of my friend Carol's Mum. This is what I came up with. Butterflies always seem reminiscent of memory or with 'signs' so that's what I included on the canvas.

I used entirely metallic paints and gilding flakes so the canvas ended up incredibly shimmery in the end... and very hard to photo. Though I am positive I took a better one than these two before I posted it off - can I find it now? No. Always the way.

Carol is one of my biggest supporters and has commissioned a few canvasses off me now - including one for her craft room. A while ago I had made another canvas in memory of her Dad and she very kindly sent me a picture of the two of them together...

I have mixed feelings about making things like this. I'm incredibly honoured to be asked but sad for the circumstances at the same time when making them. I hope they bring happy memories when looked upon.
