Rimmel Apocalips

There has been a huge amount of hype surrounding the Rimmel Apocalips, and after months of waiting they've finally reached Australian shores. They were available on ASOS beforehand, however the shade range of the Australian line is slightly different to the range available on ASOS and overseas.

I finally got my hands on Apocalyptic and Phenomenon - a bold hot-pink fuchsia and a peachy nude - in Priceline despite paying almost double ($12.95) what they sell for on ASOS ($7). Luckily, I haven't been disappointed!

The Apocalips are incredibly pigmented and a better described as more of a liquid lipstick/paint. The liquid formula is amazing for people who suffer from dry lips (like me!) as the colour is less likely to stick to dry patches. The doe-foot applicator makes application super easy, and the well in the middle of the applicator allows more product to be applied evenly.
The are a few downsides to the Apocalips - firstly, they don't set. I found that if I didn't blot after application, they would smudge everywhere. Unfortunately that means you don't get a super glossy finish, but at least you won't have it smudged everywhere. This also means that they require quite a bit of maintenance. Secondly, whilst the doe-foot applicator assists with super even and easy application, it also results in way too much product! I often have to sheer out the amount I have on as well as blotting, otherwise a whole lot ends up on my teeth.

Despite a few minor setbacks, the Rimmel Apocalips are worthy of the hype. The increasing number of liquid lipsticks and paints on the market are the perfect answer for those who love lipstick but suffer from dry lips.
Again, Rimmel keep going from strength to strength in terms of their product range, and I can't wait to see what comes next!
