In case you haven’t been keeping track, it’s now two weeks since my apartment’s maintenance team ripped that giant hole in my kitchen wall with no word on when they’ll patch it up. Then there’s the leak in my bedroom ceiling, the broken blinds, and the doorknob with a tendency to fall off (plus another one that takes two hours and three people to open).
I think it’s time to get the hell out of dodge.
Unfortunately – and perhaps obviously, given the state of my home – I hate the apartment hunt. I don’t know what questions to ask or a monthly fee that won’t give me palpitations every time I write a rent check.
Really, my needs for an apartment are similar to my needs in a man: well-maintained, dog-friendly, and easily accessible via public transportation.
