Fun Day At Medieval Times! #MedievalTimes #Giveaway

I have another amazing giveaway for you today! This time it’s for the whole family – A Fun Day At Medieval Times!

Celebrating 30 years in North America, it’s History in Action! Imagine a History lesson presented by a King and his Noble Court set within the walls of an 11th century castle. Step back in time and experience spectacular horsemanship, amazing swordplay, medieval games of skill and an authentic jousting tournament between 6 brave knights of the realm. As the tournament takes place the castle’s serfs and wenches serve a feast fit for a king. It’s an authentic learning experience for all ages that will be enjoyed and remembered.

Living so close to Toronto I was always curious about the whole excitement behind Medieval Times. Dashing young men riding on horses, charging at each other while wielding sharp, steel swords and then there’s always eating your whole meal with your hands. Little did I know that was just the beginning of all the excitement!

Lucky for us, my family had the opportunity to go to Medieval Times a couple weeks ago and we had a great time. My kids, ages 10, 9 and 6, were so excited to see horses, the amazing show and, of course, the food! The talent of all the people who work so hard to entertain you is amazing. The knights would fall off their horses, roll across the ground and then stand up and fight with swords drawn. Other knights would fight with morning stars and shields, ducking and jumping out of the way of the oncoming attacks. Sparks flew and gasps from the crowd could be heard while the knights fought tirelessly until the end. Just when you thought the show was over, out came another round of showmanship and skill. My family was seated in the yellow section so we were cheering for the Yellow Knight. There was never a dull moment in the arena!

If you’re an educator and have ever thought about taking a school group to Medieval Times I would highly recommend it. Weekday matinees during the school year include a 30 minute interactive seminar designed for elementary-aged children, birds of prey meet & greet and demonstration. These shows are at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Check with their website for details. Additional copy ideas can be found on the educational portal and general website. There’s also an Educator’s site for teachers and parents where you can find more information.

Not only was spending a day at Medieval Times fun and entertaining, it was also very educational. My kids got to step back in time and experience what it was like to live hundreds of years ago. They talked about it all the way home!
