One Minute Reviews - New Launches I love & hate

I've not been blogging actively on beauty for over 10 months now. However that doesn't mean I haven't been trying out the new launches in the market as well as reading other beauty blogs. In the last one year, there have been a ton of beauty launches, and while I will be reviewing products individually over the next few weeks, here is a quicker post of stuff I have enjoyed, and things I haven't loved so much:

Products I've been Loving:

1. L'Oreal Moist Matt lipsticks: These are my absolute current favorite lipsticks. In fact I overcame my resistance to wearing bright colors for office because these are all I want to wear at all times. The ones I own are Lincoln Rose & Flaming Kiss.

2. Kryolan Iconic Gel Liner: While not a new launch, I would have never discovered these if Sam had not reviewed them here. Needless to say I'm a fan and own them in every color (well, almost, other than black!) and use them almost everyday.

3. Ponds BB Cream*: This is the dead & departed Ponds TM in a new avatar? Maybe! It is delight to use though and is almost tied neck & neck with Maybelline BB stick as my favorite BB formula.

4. Maybelline Color Show Nail Paints: I like the price & I love some of the colors in this range. I do feel that the color palette could be a lot more fashion forward. Some of the colors seem a bit outdated to me.

5. Lakme Eyeconic Liner in White & Blue: I love the white liner, but not on my eyes. I have found a rather different use for it - details will be revealed soon!

6. Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict Lipstick*: I have Red Delight and I love it! It stays on longer than most glossy lip balms I have tried.

7. Maybelline Super Stay 14 hour lipsticks*: Non - Stop Red & Continuous Cranberry are my reasons for loving this range. It is a good lipstick for summers. I like that it stays put and doesn't shift and slide around like creme formulation lipsticks.

7. Ponds Silk Cream: Non-sticky, non-oily and sinks into your skin like a your head on a fluffy pillow. Again a great summer product for moisturizing without any greasiness or layers on the face.

Products I haven't enjoyed:

1. Revlon Just Bitten Matt Lip Balms: I think it is minty smell & tingling after-effects that turns me off about this product the most. I bought the shade Shameless, which turned out to be bad color for me. I look like I'm headed to a goth festival with it on!

2. Maybelline Bold Matt Lipsticks: I didn't like the color selection (too small, too warm toned) and the texture & finish of the lipstick. It is priced well though. I have to admit these didn't make it past the sales counter and none came back home with me. I love bright lipsticks, but there is just something about the pigment / formulation that didn't appeal to me. Although this review here does make them look super-tempting and I wonder if I have been too hasty in dismissing these.

3. Maybelline Lip Polish: I didn't like the finish. I know, I'm in the minority here. But this just didn't impress me. I do have a strong preference for Satin or Matt finishes and that may have contributed to my dislike of this product.

4. Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede*: I really wanted to love this one. I'm one of those people who can wear MAC Ruby Woo without a whimper about it drying my lips. But I didn't like how this felt on the lips. The texture is bit off-putting plus it goes on patchy for some reason. I love Revlon lipsticks and have enough of the Super Lustrous series to start my own makeup counter (No, I'm not kidding!) but all their new launches in lipsticks haven't been too stellar.

5. Lakme Absolute LE Lip Tints: Over-priced & according to me, the pigmentation is not worth the price. If it is tinted lip balm you want, there are a ton of options in variety of price lines. I have Berry Pink and I have barely made a dent in it.
