Nearly New Thrift Store Shop

Y’all, I have this love-hate relationship with thrift shops. I used to go to them all the time when I was an angsty teen who liked to wear flannel and was really into Jordan Catalano. (And if you don’t know who Jordan Catalano is, then I’m sorry, but we can’t be friends. It’s not me, it’s you.)

I also used to have time to go to them every few days to get the good finds or spend all afternoon sorting through racks and looking for the right patchwork dress or embroidered jeans. Now I have to do that with a 2-year-old who is hell bent on getting kidnapped or trampled by running through the racks at top speed.

Needless to say, I don’t get to thrift stores as often as I once did.

That is why I was very pleased to learn about the Nearly New Thrift Store Shop. Instead of spending an afternoon wrangling my toddler who’s either running in every direction or screaming “NO!” as loud as she can, I can just browse through the virtual aisles to find deals. Plus, I can do it whenever I want — like at 10 p.m. when I have no child screaming “NO!” in my face (like she’s doing this very minute).

Here are a few of the things we picked up from the shop:

We also got a super cute (and warm) pair of purple footie pajamas.

All the items arrived super fast, and they were in great condition. You’d never know they weren’t new.

The other thing I like about the Nearly New Thrift Store Shop is that it’s run by a mom looking to stay home with her kids. Alisha is a single mother, but she wants to be a full-time attachment parent, so she found this way to open her own business and support her family without sacrificing her parenting goals. She has the support of family to help make it possible.

Alisha says she also opened the store because she likes a good bargain herself and doesn’t like the environmental impact that buying new things can have.

Alisha has only been in business since October, but from what I can tell, she is going strong. Her shop is filled with lots of cute and reasonably priced items for kids, moms and dads. Shipping is also super cheap — only $5 in the U.S. if your order is under $15 and FREE if your order is more than $15 — so you can get the things you need under budget.

Go check out the Nearly New Thrift Store Shop so you can support a single mom, another AP parent and a new business owner who’s trying to do good things for families and the environment.
