AphroChic

Welcome 2015

Welcome to AphroChic in 2015! We are moving into our eighth year of writing this blog and bringing you content from around the globe, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come in the year ahead. We’ve finally made some moves (the first is that we’re now headquartered in Brooklyn) to grow AphroChic into a bigger and better site for you. This year expect more original house tours, video segments and some great designer interviews (the first one is coming up this afternoon, and it’s a BIG one). We invite you to peruse the new site, which includes some great features when reading blog posts. You can now scroll through galleries at the top of each page. Just click the little arrows to enjoy some great large-scale photos. And at the bottom of each page, you can easily share posts you like with your social networks. We invite you to pin, tweet and facebook away. Finally, you’ll notice we’re very social around here, so click on our top or bottom bar to follow AphroChic on Instagram, YouTube and Bloglovin. It’s a new year and a new vision for AphroChic, but you can’t go forward without looking at the past. We dug into our archives, and found our original vision statement for the brand, that still holds true. This is what we believe and want to share with all of you:

We Believe

That home should be a personal reflection of who you are.

That the most beautiful rooms tell a story.

We believe in a new kind of luxury; in reveling in life’s simple pleasures.

That good design doesn’t have to sacrifice the environment.

That city girls can rock organic tees and natural hair while taking trips to the farmer’s market.

That country girls can love Philippe Starck Ghost Chairs and trips to New York Fashion Week.

That even a single life can have diversity.

We believe in Sunday brunch, flea market adventures, and coming home to a space you love.

In cultural reflection, ethnic-inspired prints, and embracing a global lifestyle.

We believe that anyone can have modern soulful style.
