Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous

New foundation alert!

After using up two high end foundations (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua and Givenchy Teint Couture) I thought it was only right to balance it off by purchasing two drugstore foundations. I bought L'oreal True Match Lumi which I reviewed here and Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous, which is the subject of this post.

Here's the thing... I LOVE THIS! If you have oily/combination skin and like a medium/full coverage then praise baby Jesus because this foundation will be right up your alley. The best part? It costs $8.99, is completely fragrance free and has not given my sensitive acne-prone skin any bad reactions. I also love the slim squeeze-tube packaging. The only downside? The colour matching sucks.

I bought shade #205 which was the closest match but the undertones are definitely a bit off. It's a hint too peachy. I wish it was more yellow but alas, I can make it work! This foundation dries down to a velvety finish and while it does work well applied with fingers or a buffing brush, I found the most natural and flawless application was with a beautyblender sponge. The finish is more satin when applied with a sponge. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a dewy and glowy foundation, this will not be it. It does not cling to dry patches, either, which is great if you have more combination skin.

No concealer needed, it lasts all day on my oily skin (I do use a setting powder but I also got a good 6 hours of coverage before blotting when I didn't set it with powder) and it's affordable which makes it the perfect everyday foundation for me for the weekday... especially once summer rolls around! I prefer this to the L'Oreal True Match Lumi just because it has more longevity and it caters better to my skin type.

Have you tried this foundation yet?
