Grandma Judy

Grandma Judy has left the Berkshire. We were very sad to see her go but I think she was getting homesick, and it must feel good for her to be back home. This past weekend we celebrated her last weekend with us by heading into the city for a day of play. The four of us started the day following the same path that Nuvia and I took when she came to visit with the 6 subway Uptown to 77th and a walk to the Whitney. This time, as member, we were able to walk right in and to see the Yayoi Kusama
Fireflies on the Water exhibit - it was amazing! Worth the whole trip right there in that one minute. Avielle was very stoked to get to go in twice (once with me and once with Jenn) and I must admit I was jealous of her. Then we toured the museum and looked at more of Yayoi's amazing artwork.

After the Whitney we strolled down the fancy pants Upper East Side along Madison Ave. For no reason at all other than total curiosity we stopped into a local pharmacy. This place had a doorman and personal floor help to gather your expensive hair products and unburden you from pushing a cart or (gasp) carrying anything with you. It seemed only natural to get a flu vaccine in such wealth and splendor, so Jenn and I got stuck there while the attending pharmacist performed some slight of hand magic trick to try and explain to us how the vaccine worked (hilarious).
After the surreal pharmacy, Jenn and Judy headed back to the Subway and a visit of the MoMA, while Avielle and I went to Central Park to play - Good times had by both groups.

We met back up at Grand Central with Avielle sleeping on my shoulders, ate some dinner at an Irish Pub, grabbed the train and headed home.

The next night G'ma wanted to celebrate Avie's upcoming birthday with us before she headed home, so Avielle and she made cupcakes. Tom, Cody, Judy, Jenn, and I all sang Happy Birthday. Then Avie unwrapped a big box from G'ma and was supper happy to see the fancy door beads she had requested.

Thanks Grandma Judy for coming out and staying at the Berkshire for three weeks - we miss you already!
