Art Party Ideas on a Budget

We had so much fun partying with Disney Imagicademy!

Mickey’s Magical Arts World app will be available in the Apple App Store on February 12, 2015. In Mickey’s Magical Arts World, children are invited to join Mickey and his friends in the most imaginative place around, as they explore a fully immersive world of creative arts.

We set out to host a kick-butt art party and then mother nature dumped 18 inches of snow on us with 45 mile hour winds and we had legit blizzard. It turned out to be the perfect way to be snowed in.

Quinn was addicted to, Mickey’s Magical Math World.

In Mickey’s Magical Math World, children are invited to join Mickey and his pals on a fun-filled Space adventure that explores math concepts within a fully immersive playground of magical experiences.

–and immersed he was.

With the Apple TV, the game is can be displayed on the TV and all the other kids can join in on the fun.

When we got to planning this event, we expected Mickey’s Magical Arts World to be available, hence the art themed party.

We had paper, crayons, markers and puzzles to keep the kids busy for when they could, you know, tear themselves away from the game.

If you find yourself wondering what they are doing, fret not. There is Disney Imagicademy Parents.

Disney Imagicademy Parents is an all-new free app that serves as a parent’s ‘go-to’ resource to connect with the Imagicademy community and gather information that can be used to engage with their child in meaningful ways.

My must have decor item was the good old tablecloth! They came in packs of 2 for $1.99. I bought three packs, putting me just over $6 with tax.

I had paint cans from Eleanor’s Elmo party. I stuffed tablecloths in the cans and had the ends drape out so it looked like spilled paint.

My spin on a fun, simple and cheap centerpiece.

I used the second tablecloth in each pack as a backdrop. I didn’t even completely unfold them from the packaging. I slid the tablecloth behind the chalkboard and let the rest fall down and then drape over the table.

The cupcakes were frosted in different colors and displayed on art pallets. I found the art pallets super cheap at Walmart in the craft area.

I used the left over frosting on the tips of brownies to make them look like paint brushes.

The dowels were in the cake section at Walmart. Colorful paint brushes and a pallet full of colorful paint did the trick.

I wanted to make the living room a tad festive so I busted out my most used decor.

I jazzed up the coffee table with a disco ball, swedish fish and fun straws, because really–what more do we need in life?

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
