MAC Syrup

It's been quite a while since I've ventured over to MAC. I feel there's a bit of a love/hate relationship with them. Great range of choices but with forever rising prices and often unfriendly staff, I find myself going elsewhere. Alas, armed with a gift card to spend.. I decided to head over to Silverburn and treat myself to a lipstick I've been lusting after for quite some time.. MAC Syrup.

Syrup is part of the Lustre range which is basically a collection of sheer lipsticks. I always thought they were a bit of a waste of money but after my obsession with Revlon's Lip Butters, I was converted. It's basically a way to wear just about any lip shade yet still look daytime appropriate.

The particular shade I picked up, Syrup, is described as a cloudy pink shade with a shiny finish. It's one of those your lips but better shades you can throw on just before heading out the door. It actually reminds me of Revlon's Blushing Mauve, the lipstick I go on about all the time but with a sheer finish.

I think this the kind of shade that will suit most skin types and a great one to start off with if you're new to wearing lipstick also. It's definitely not their most exciting shade in the range but if you're looking for a shade you'll wear all the time and get a lot of use out of, this is the one.
