Today I have a thorough review on the
ELF Pressed Mineral Eyeshadows ($3), these also look to be on sale, so I'm not sure if they are selling off stock or discontinuing. I bought these shadows going in expecting them to be as pigmented and amazing as their loose
Mineral Eyeshadows, which I love and use often (let me know if I should do a review on those too), but sadly they are very different and the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I will say though, the packaging is sturdy and compact, and I hope they do more single eye shadows in this packaging.
Jumping right in, the
ELF Pressed Mineral Eyeshadows are powdery to the touch, they kick up a lot and fall out all over the lashes and cheeks when applying with brushes. I also applied a few shades with a damp brush, and still had some glitter/shimmer fall out. The pigmentation swatches much nicer than they wear. On the lid they sheer out significantly and almost look like a light wash of color - aka they easily blend away. They do not play well together, I tried to wear multiple shades in a look and the colors muddled together and just looked a mess, and that was with very careful placement and minimal blending.
I think these
Pressed Mineral Eyeshadows would be ideal for true makeup beginners, those who like to wear just one shade on the lid, minimal and simple. Any extra work with these shadows will pretty much erase everything. As for wear time, they wear for hours, with a primer underneath. So although they are on the sheerer side, they stay put really well.
