Top Tips for a Movie Night In

As much as I’m sure we all love going to the cinema, ordering a large drink and popcorn and sitting back in front of an enormous screen. Sometimes it’s nice to enjoy a movie in the comfort of your own home. Who cares if your makeup has worn off and your hair is all tangled in a top knot?! Call your friends over, share the evening with a loved one or just spend some time by yourself. Maybe you’re craving a goofy comedy, or a romantic chick flick. Have a good look through your DVD stash, or scroll Netflix’s endless archive. You have control on whether you want to watch something you’ve seen a billion times before, or if you fancy seeing something new. Your not tied down to a small list of blockbuster films, which are probably over rated anyway…

I’ve put together some tips on the essentials I find are a complete must for my own ‘Movie Night In’.

Extra Blankets

This is a complete must for me. I love being able to snuggle up and loose myself in a gripping film. Simply add a hot water bottle for extra toastiness in the winter months. Layering up cushions around you and forming your own cocoon is great for comfort too!

Scented Candles

Burning my favourite scent is the perfect way for me to un-wind after a long day. I instantly feel at ease. The flickering of the flames adds a pretty touch to your room too.

Tasty Food & Snacks

Whether that’s something which isn’t so kind on your thighs, or whether your eating healthily. I love looking up recipes for things to cook and bake. I love Metcalfe’s skinny Topcorn. It’s seriously low on the calories!

Darkness

No movie night would be complete without the room being extra dark and cosy. I like to make sure every light is off in sight. Of course, I keep my phone to hand ready to inspect any strange noises in my house. It always tends to be the heating or boiler. But, I must be sure.

Curry’s are currently running a campaign to find out what your favorite movie soundtrack is. I must admit, I don’t like the typical cheesy musical tracks. But, it’s made me have a good think as to what my favourite Soundtrack actually is. Disney albums aside, I’ve been really enjoying the Soundtrack to one of this years top films, Divergent. I can usually be quite picky when it comes to music. If a movie features a song which really reflects on the emotion of a scene – I’m instantly hooked. Divergent’s soundtrack is a good mix of genres which is perfect for me. From Electronic Pop, to Rap and R&B. It surprisingly blends well and matches the style of the movie tremendously – giving a really good music complication.

Of course, if you haven’t already seen Divergent – it’s a must see! I’ve done things a little backwards and I’m starting on the book now. But, let me know what your favourite movie soundtrack is and join in on twitter with the hashtag #CurrysMovieNight and make sure to check out Curry’s website for more details.
