A Fresh Start

Oh hi. Remember me?

I know, I know. My brief blog “hiatus” turned into a very extended leave of absence. To be completely honest, I wasn’t sure if I would ever come back to blogging. I was pretty happy with my existing roster of posts and just wasn’t feeling particularly inspired to write. I kept coming across other “better” bloggers who were updating their blogs on a daily basis with yet another review of a product and I started to think, what is the point? Even my twice (sometimes) weekly updating schedule was starting to feel like an arduous chore. I just couldn’t and still don’t understand how people can churn out legitimate, quality posts on a daily basis. I started to explore my other interests on a deeper level. But I eventually came to the conclusion that I love writing; I started my blog as a creative outlet for myself, and I really started to miss it. So here I am.

To kick things off, I wanted to share my version of an awesome 2014 resolutions list I saw on one of my favorite non-beauty/wellness blogs, Hitha on the Go. Her blog is completely unrelated to what I happen to write about but I happen to have a scary obsession with efficiency. Reading Hitha’s blog fulfills my quirk to learn about how to be better at life through excessive organization. Love.

BAD HABIT I’M GOING TO BREAK:
Not washing my makeup brushes and being flaky with my budget.

A NEW SKILL I’D LIKE TO LEARN:
I already learned but I want to improve my bike riding skills so I can bike around NYC without fearing for my life!

A PERSON I HOPE TO BE MORE LIKE:
Ruzwana Bashir (CEO of Peek). So inspiring.

A GOOD DEED I’M GOING TO DO:
Become more involved with my favorite non-profit, Restore NYC!

A PLACE I’D LIKE TO VISIT:
Costa Rica – surf camp. Solo.

A BOOK I’D LIKE TO READ:
Walter Isaacson’s Benjamin Franklin biography (he’s my favorite historical figure of all time)

A LETTER I’M GOING TO WRITE:
A handwritten note to a businesswoman I admire

A NEW FOOD I’D LIKE TO TRY:
I’ve tried a lot so…

I’M GOING TO DO BETTER AT:
Keeping in touch with business/work acquaintances and friends. Blogging.

So how will you be better in 2014?
