Tester Thursdays: Korres Vitamin E Face Primer

For someone as obsessed with beauty as me, I have a confession to make: I was always one of those people who were decidedly anti-primer. Why add yet another step to my morning routine? And besides, my foundation was working just fine, thankyouverymuch. I just didn’t get the hype. But that all changed when I finally decided to try the Korres Vitamin E Face Primer that I had purchased on a whim a few months ago.

After applying my morning face oil and sunscreen one morning, I added a tiny bit of primer to my face. I was pretty shocked by how smooth and almost poreless my skin became, even before I applied my foundation. After dotting on a bit of foundation and concealer, my skin looked positively airbrushed and actually stayed that way until dinner. And no, this was not a one-time fluke! I’ve worn this primer on one of the many super windy, wet days over the past few weeks, expecting to look like a hot mess once I arrived at work. I was pretty floored to discover that I still looked somewhat presentable, sans touch up.

I don’t think I’m alone when I say that since I have transitioned to more natural skincare and cosmetics, I’ve been less than thrilled that many these products just don’t have the endurance to stay on throughout my workday. I’ve basically accepted it as a given that I will have to re-apply at some point during the day. This primer takes care of that problem pretty handily.

I also love that the added Vitamin E makes this primer super moisturizing without being greasy. I was particularly concerned that adding another layer of moisture would lead to clogged pores and the inevitable breakout, but I haven’t had any issues with that thus far. If you have oilier skin, don’t feel left out: I’ve read rave reviews for this primer’s sister product: the Pomegranate Mattifying Face Primer. (I might give that one a try myself once summer hits!)

Now that I can’t get enough of this primer, I’m wondering what else is out there! Any and all suggestions are welcome.
