#31DC2014 Days 25-31

Disclaimer: Some previous samples. See bottom.

It’s the final installment of #31DC2014!! And I’m proud to display this badge (Chalkboard Nails’ Sarah had them created for finishers!) on my blog!

I used a total of 78 nail polishes over the course of the 31 days, and I consistently found use for my Nubar Two-Way Nail Art Pen in Black!

I only recycled manis a couple times, and truly “phoned it in” a couple times. Overall, the challenge was – a challenge – and forced me to think outside the box! Without further ado, my last few days of the challenge below!

Day 25

Day 25 – inspired by fashion. I wasn’t very inspired on day 25. In fact, this was a day that I was just getting it done. I noticed nude half moon nail art at NYFW a few weeks ago, so I replicated that using OPI Chillin’ Like a Villain. Just…it’s bad. ugh. Ladies and gentlemen…my worst day of #31DC2014 right here!

Day 26

For Day 26, the prompt was pattern. I couldn’t get the image of my grandmother’s sewing machine and clothing patterns out of my head! So I drew a dress pattern on my nails using Deborah Lippmann Fashion as a base, and my trusty Nubar nail art pen in Black for the guide lines.

Day 27

Day 27 – inspired by art. Weellllllll. I phoned it in here a little bit too. I wasn’t truly inspired by art. But I Googled “white flowers on a blue background,” felt that there was enough art like this out there, and did this simple mani. Yep. I suck. But at least my polish is beautiful – Colors by Llarowe I’ll Be Sea-ing You, with a design from MoYou Nails plate 237 stamped with MoYou Nails Special Nail Polish in white.

Day 28

The truth is, I wanted to do the Six Flags Great Adventure flags on my nails, because the day I was supposed to do day 28, I spent the day riding roller coasters with my husband. But I was a day behind. I Googled blue flags (because I didn’t want to take off Colors by Llarowe I’ll Be Sea-ing You, and found Sweden’s flag. I added the cross shape with Orly Instant Artist Water-based in Hot Yellow.

I promise I get a little less lazy as I near the end!

Day 29

Day 29 – inspired by supernatural, was fun for me. I used a base of Wet n’ Wild MegaLast in Echo Dark. I added wispy ghosts using Milani Color Statement in Frenchie Sheer. I added eyes with my Nubar Nail Art Pen in Black. This is one of my favorite manis from the challenge! Spooky!

Day 30

Day 30, inspired by a tutorial, I was inspired by All Day Chic’s sneaker nails tutorial! I used: Morgan Taylor Invitation Only, OPI Live Love Carnival, China Glaze Be More Pacific, OPI Hotter Than You Pink, China Glaze Sun Upon My Skin, Milani Spotlight White (for tips) and Nubar nail art pens in white and black for the sneaker accents. This was so cute! Not as neat and tidy as the tutorial but I was proud!

Day 31

Day 31 was honor nails you love. I honored two bloggers’ nails! Chalkboard Nails and The Dalai Lama’s Nails. This nail art – that first photo of it was my most liked photo on Instagram so far! I LOVED this mani and I had some awesome inspiration to get it done! I used the Chrome Girl NHL Philadelphia Flyer’s Trio – Broad Street Babe, Just Add Ice and Drop It!; Nubar Love American Style; KBShimmer Chick Me Out, LVX Monaco; Alessandro Wild Safari; and Salon Perfect Ruby’s Cube. I also used my Nubar black two-way Nail art pen for the lines of the cube! Did I mention I LOVED this?! I wore it for three days after the challenge was over, and so many people commented on it! Thank you Sarah and Hannah for the inspiration!

SO there it is! I can’t believe it’s over! Whatever am I going to do at night now?! Although I have to say, I could use a palette cleanser, and some straight-up nail polish, so I expect the next week I’ll be exploring some of my fall collections I’ve got!

Did you finish the challenge?! What day above was your fav? If not, what do you think of the above mani’s?!
