An Emerald Green Catalan Country Wedding

An emerald green wedding, completed by a muted palette? Eclectic flowers and unexpected combinations, such as thistles (representing the groom’s homecountry Scotland) and Flor de Maga (a nod to the bride’s Puerto Rico origins)? Kilts in the Catalan countryside?

This wedding, captured so beautifully by 3 Deseos y Medio, shows that all of this is possible, thanks to Allan’s and Maite’s vision and the help of their wedding planner Laura from Fueron Felices. I am swooning over the tablescapes and the botanical details!

Allan wore a traditional Scottish kilt in the Stevenson (his last name) tartan.

Botanical bunting.

The bride’s veil is an heirloom piece, used by every woman in Maite’s family. So precious! Her gown is a custom design by Ecliptica in Puerto Rico, based on Maite’s mood board. She didn’t see it until 3 days before the wedding!

There were fresh oysters and traditional Catalan food, rustic barbecue style.

The bride about the floral decor: “The girls at Bornay are flower geniuses. I wanted something wild, slightly strange and moody, and they delivered. Some flowers were slightly spray painted. There was a variety of thistles, fern, moss, miniature air plants, colored craspedia, and a variety of banksia protea and white hydrangeas. It was so unusual, it looked like from a jungle in another planet. I loved it.”

A pice of advice for destination brides: “One of the best things we did was take a few days before the whole thing started to disconnect. We got to Barcelona 3 days before our friends and family started arriving and whilst we did some planning we mainly just enjoyed relaxing by ourselves.”

And yes, even the photobooth had a botanical backdrop!
