Last Week's Frugal Accomplishments...

This week's frugal accomplishments are....

I bought four workbooks for the kids to use in school with a gift card I received for Christmas.

I used another gift card we got for Christmas to get a few toys and brush for Mr. Watson the cat. He has been a HUGE ball of energy and we needed some toys to help the kids tire that guy out. Attacking our feet at night was becoming quite tiring :) Oh and encase you didn't know, we got a cat for Christmas. We love him!

We went to the library to check out books and movies...oh and some more books! Haha! We are BIG book nerds in this house!

We made a lot of smoothies at home this week. We have been on a smoothie kick and it is so nice making them at home with stuff with already have in the freezer!

I watched some shows on Netflix and Hulu- my favorite right now has been Selfie and Melissa and Joey.
We made all our meals at home (you can find the recipes HERE) and even made a yummy "dump cake" two times this week from items I had in my pantry (I'll share the recipe soon). It was that good! Have you heard of dump cakes before? My Mom gave me Best Dump Cakes Ever
cookbook for Christmas and I have been loving trying out all the fun recipes in it.

Hubby and I had a date night at home. We watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes(borrowed from my parents) and shared some yummy caramel popcorn from Christmas. It was delish!

We dejunked our picture books this week and donated a bunch to Savers this week.

I made some
homemade febreeze and all purpose cleaner, using stuff we already had on hand.

I downloaded a free game on my phone. I am currently obsessed with Sim City Build It. Hubby and I have been playing it together.

I did our grocery shopping. This month we spent $160 less than what we normally do. I tried to only buy the basics this month. I ended up buying dairy, produce, and some flour and barley. We will continue getting
Bountiful Baskets this month for all of our produce.

Over the weekend I had to run into Wal-Mart to get the last few items on my grocery list. Usually if our budget allows, I will purchase doughnuts as a fun, yummy breakfast for the family to eat Saturday morning....since I am sticking to me #NoSpenduary I resisted the urge and told myself I would make something yummy at home over the weekend for us to enjoy. I ended up making French Toast for the family to enjoy before church on Sunday. It was a nice alternative to the doughnuts and didn't cost anything:)

Our week has been full of some great fun and great savings. We paid bills at home, paid off a debt we had with some of the money we have saved this already this month, and have been able to put a bit in savings as well. I hope you are all having a fabulous #NOSpenduary!

How are you all living frugally this week?

XO Danielle
