when in dallas (friends style)

Being from Dallas, I used to not fully appreciate what this city has to offer. After moving away, though, I've really started to enjoy going back and doing some of my favorite things there (meaning seeing cool people, eating out, shopping, and seeing movies at my favorite theaters). I'm also one of five kids, though, and most of my family lives in the Dallas area. Although I ADORE my family and spending time with them, it's rather difficult for me to get true quality time in with mah girls. That's where this weekend comes in. I had a Dallas friends-style vaca weekend, and it was awesome! My friends are beautiful and amazing, and they made my heart just about burst.
Highlights from the weekend include:

1. Riding a mechanical bull for the first time (yes, I'm serious, and it was awesome)
2. Day drinking at Katy Trail Icehouse...no regrets, but we totally racked up $395...
3. Getting a mani and eating a nerds rope
4. Taking too many cabs, in a good way
5. Enjoying the beautiful weather, which was in the 60s and 70s the whole time!

All in all, 'twas an awesome weekend. Moral of the story: I highly recommend visiting your hometown at least once as a friends only trip. Just do it.
