ColourPop Cosmetics Haul // Megan Naik, Frida, Truth, Meow Swatches + Review

If you follow me on Instagram you knew this post was coming today! My first ColourPop Cosmetics haul! I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to haul from this brand. The products have been taking beauty lovers by storm in terms of quality and price. Each piece is only FIVE DOLLARS (USD) and the ease of use and pigmentation is above par.

The Megan Naik collab quad ($20.00 // ColourPop) was the first thing I put in my cart. All of the shades are some of my faves color-wise – Onai (creamy white with blue violet opalescent duo chrome in a satin finish), Lectra (deepened burgundy with pink violet glitter in a metallic finish), Amira (antique gilded gold with multi-coloured and multi-dimensional glitter in a metallic finish) and Farah (deep brown in a matte finish).

The ColourPop Super Shock Shadows are cool to the touch and feel like they’re more of a cream. They’ll apply damp-ish but set to a powder. Regardless of the slight wetness I had no issues with applying the shades evenly or blending. These shadows are so saturated and vivid… plus they last all day over primer… I just can’t say enough good things.

I picked up two more Super Shock Shadows in Meow (light gunmetal doused with tons of pink, violet and silver glitter, leaving a super sparkly metallic finish) and Truth (neutral light beige eyeshadow with a warm satin finish).

Meow ($5.00 // ColourPop) was a must have because it’s what they call a “Tie Dye” and when blended the shade is the most beautiful silvered lilac. I bought Truth ($5.00 // ColourPop) because I’ve got a major thing for a beige shadow with a satin finish. I use one in almost all of my looks (if one isn’t included in a set or collection I usually reach for MAC Grain).

Because every one told me I’d especially be into the ColourPop Lippie Stix I put Frida (warm mid tone nude pink with a satin finish) in my cart before I checked out. I picked Frida ($5.00 // ColourPop) because not only is it a shade that I would usually gravitate towards but it’s also a collab with Dani from Coffee Break With Dani on YouTube. She has wonderful, positive energy and is extremely honest in her reviews. You know that if she says it’s awesome, it’s awesome. This looked fabulous on her and on everyone else that I saw reviewing it… so.. easy choice. I’m in love. The color is exactly what I’ve always been looking for but have never found. It’s pink but there’s that glimmer of peach that doesn’t quite show but makes it perfect for my skin tone (and plenty of others).

The formula on this is opaque in one swipe and feels amazing. It applies evenly and lasts longer than a usual satin lipstick would, however it will mostly come off when you eat and drink. As a surprise I also found that ColourPop had sent along a Lippie Primer ($5.00 // ColourPop) to go along with Frida. It really allowed the Lippie Stix to apply that much more smoothly and the website states that it “contains itty bitty spherical beads that fill in fine lines making lips instantly smooth and plump! It also contains mango, avocado and shea butter for moisture and Vitamin E, which soothes your lips“. I can’t feel the beads (which I find to be a positive) and I love that this is just enough of a smoother so that it doesn’t feel goopy and won’t effect the consistency of the actual Lippie Stix when you apply.

All of the shades are swatched below dry with no primer. This photo was taken with flash but I posted one on my Instagram that was taken under a daylight lamp with no flash.

In the look below I’m wearing Urban Decay Primer Potion as a base. ColourPop Lectra is all over the lid, Farah in the crease with a bit of Amira over the top part and blended up. Onai is at the inner corners and above Amira to blend. Truth was used to highlight and a bit of Lectra was smudged under the lower lash line. The top liner is MAC Orpheus Power Kohl and the bottom is MAC Powersurge Eye Kohl. The mascara is Tarte Lights Camera Lashes. I’m also wearing the ColourPop Lippie Primer and Frida Lippie Stix.

If you’re interested in what I wear in terms of the other makeup it’s the products from IT Cosmetics mentioned here (but in the pic below I’m wearing the shade Light because the Medium in that post was much too dark for me). The blush is Tarte Celebrated along with Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. Brows are IT Cosmetics Your Brows But Better Brow Power Skinny Pencil and Anastasia Clear Brow Gel.

As I’m writing this I couldn’t take it anymore and placed another order. It’s hard to resist when you get $5 off for signing up for the newsletter . Can’t waste a coupon! (I know you guys will ask so my haul – Lippie Stix in Lucy, Skimpy and Bichette as well as the Bichette pencil. Shadows in Fairfax, Effect, To-a-T, Cop a Feel and Girl Crush).

Let me know in the comments what you want to haul from ColourPop! PS: THE BLUSHES ARE COMING SOON AND I CAN’T WAIT!
