night in the berlin tropics

my cousin was in berlin this weekend. We haven’t really lived close enough for spontaneous get togethers in the past years, but this weekend it finally happened.

we went to my fav berlin haunt district mot for some silk worms and cocktails.

the food is great and hearty, the appetizers exotic, drinks yummy and dessert & coffee are worth going for themselves.

what better way to introduce an out of towner to the berlin “hipster” scene than a tour de torstrasse. after tasting the g&t at a few watering holes, we finally settled on kitty cheng where we danced the night away to some old school hip hop songs.

the next morning we sobered up with a yummy brunch (pancakes!) and a tourist boat ride through the city. Due to the chilly temperatures and the relatively early hours, this experience turned out to be rather peaceful.
